Before academia, I was a journalist, screenwriter, and director working in Lisbon, Portugal and Macau. I write about theatre and culture. I also make theatre podcast with friends.
Here below is a repository of my writing in Chinese and Portuguese.

Why Do We Go to Theatre: The Deconstruction of Meaningless
Book
Why Do We Go to Theatre: The Deconstruction of Meaningless is a collection of essay where I investigate the culture value of theatregoing experience and understand the role of audience and spectatorship in the Asian context.
Drawing on theatre and performance studies, literary theory, and my participant-observation as a spectator at theatre festivals in Beijing and Tianjin, China, I investigate how curation of theatre festivals could be understood as a form of cultural dramaturgy.
The book was published in Chinese, by Zhengjiang Publishing United Group in 2016.
Podcast
From 2020-
In response to the global pandemic, Eternal Moon is a theatre podcast created by my friends and me. Back in 2020, theaters were shut down, and we could no longer enjoy live performances. This podcast became a way to stay each other connected when we were spread across three continents and five time zones.
Theater is a discursive space where we reject blind consensus and believe that multiple truths can coexist. In each episode, we discuss a curated topic relevant to the current moment. For example, after George Floyd was killed by the police in 2020, we revisited Julius Caesar to discuss the legitimacy of violence in politics amidst the Black Lives Matter protests.
The podcast is mainly in Chinese.
